Manual Lymphatic Drainage
with Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy treatment at our clinics in Hackney, East London and Basildon in Essex, uses gentle red and near-infrared light to support how your cells naturally function. These wavelengths are absorbed by the tissues just below the skin, helping cells produce energy more efficiently. Research shows this can support healthy circulation, help the body manage inflammation, and assist natural healing processes. The treatment feels warm and relaxing, and it is completely non-invasive.

Therapeutic uses supported by research include:

  • Supporting pain relief

  • Easing muscle tension or spasms

  • Assisting tissue recovery after irritation or injury

  • Supporting natural tissue repair processes

  • Helping with wound- or skin-healing challenges such as pressure sores

  • Supporting healthy nerve function

These effects make red light therapy a helpful addition to massage or Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), as it complements the body’s own recovery, comfort, and overall sense of well-being.

Equipment and Safety Assurance

We use a professional-grade medical device — the ASTAR “Lumina” infrared lamp. This device meets the requirements of the Medical Device Directive and is commonly used in medical facilities, rehabilitation centres, and private physiotherapy centres. The lamp is equipped with filters to adjust penetration depth and ensure safe, comfortable treatment settings.

“I booked a lymphatic drainage massage with Iwona a couple of times now and will certainly do so again in the future. The results are almost immediate and durable. Beyond the actual massage, she actually took time to share resources after our session to help with lymph issues on a daily basis, she also shared nutrition tips, book rêve etc. Thank you for being so generous with your time and resources Iwona!”
